Fees!
FAIR PAY FOR QUALITY WORK
One of the first questions a couple often asks is about fees, I get that, you have a budget and you want to stick to it, this is something I urge every couple to do.
Remember however, your ceremony is the HEART of your day.

My fees include the research, writing and the presentation of your day. Fees include the emails I send, the meetings we have, and basic travel for your day.
On average a ceremony takes approximately thirty hours of time.

I am a professionally trained celebrant, I am fully insured and keep myself Up-to-date with regular CPD (continuing professional development).

There are absolutely cheaper celebrants around (and some who are much more expensive) Just as there are cheaper options for cake, photographs, catering and venue hire.

Only you know the value of a professional , and how this fits in with your budget. I urge you to shop around, get a feel for the person you wish to conduct your ceremony.

I would never ever say, do not touch 'cheaper' celebrants, what I would ask is for you to just ask the question, why are you less expensive than others? Some celebrants choose quantity over quality, others have no formal training, are just starting out or are carrying out ceremonies as a hobby. None of these are wrong!
Just make sure that you make an informed choice when choosing the person to entrust your ceremony with.

I do not alter my fees to fit in with a couples budget apart from rare circumstances. If I am not the right celebrant for you, based on cost alone, I am not the right celebrant for you!
I do however vastly reduced and sometimes free ceremonies for those getting married in hospital or in a hospice due to the impending loss of a close family member (or of course one of the couple) I can only manage 3 of these ceremonies a year however. I generally only charge my travel / parking costs.
If you find yourself in this awful situation, please contact me to see if I can help or if I can recommend someone else to help.
