Terms & Conditions
The following terms and conditions make up the contract of the service between Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant (The celebrant) And the clients who have made the booking. where 7 14 or 28 days are mentioned this includes days that fall on the weekend.
1. Booking
Bookings are accepted for the agreed date only. Following the initial consultation, your date is held for 7 days. At which time a deposit is needed to secure this date. Due to the popularity of dates, the celebrant can not hold a date for more than 7 days without the deposit, and if no deposit is made, the celebrant will make contact to remind you, but will release the date if no deposit is forthcoming. if you wish to change the date at any point this is dependant on whether the celebrant has the alternative date free. Please see the amendments section for further information.
2. Packages
Packages include everything that is shown clearly on the website. If you the client choose not to have certain elements included, then no compensation is made for services not taken. For items in a package such as rehearsals and face to face meetings which fall outside of 30 miles of NP10, then travel to and from the meeting is charged at 45p per mile from NP10. I use the AA mileage calculator Here and am transparent about my mileage costs. If the client chooses the evening rehearsal and the venue is more than 50 miles away from NP10, then an accommodation and breakfast charge will be added at cost to the booking fee. This is equivalent to accommodation such a Premier Inn or travel lodge. All ceremonies regardless of distance or time that take place on New Years Eve, will be charged Both mileage at 45p from NP10 AND accommodation and breakfast at the standard described above.
No negotiation is available for fees and services. The celebrant is transparent about fees and offers value for money for services tended based on training, experience, and the hours of work put in following booking.
3. Deposit
Your booking will only be confirmed once the non refundable deposit of 50% of your ceremony cost is made. The exact amount is calculated based on the ceremony and services booked. the deposit will include 100% cost of any accommodation charges which the celebrant will need to book up front. Full fees are confirmed via invoice along with a timeline for payment of the outstanding amount. This payment will secure the date and time of your ceremony. You have 14 days by law to cancel your ceremony if for some reason you choose not to proceed. The client needs to cancel in writing by email to ea.jenkins@uksoc.com before the 15th day following payment, your payment will be refunded in full within 14 days. All payments are to be made by BACS payment using details supplied in the invoice. After 14 days, the deposit will not be refunded under any circumstances. The deposit covers the work the celebrant carries out from the moment booking takes place, including calls, research, note taking, and the initial ceremony draft.
4. Balance Payment
The full balance due is payable 42 days (6 weeks) prior to the ceremony. If making a booking and your ceremony is to take place within 8 weeks then payment is required in full on receipt of the completed booking form. Once full payment has been paid it is non refundable. Payments are to be made by BACS payment asset out in the invoice.
5. Legalities
The ceremonies provided by Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant are not legal ceremonies, they are ceremonial wedding ceremonies and do not purport to have a legal basis.
Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant will be pleased to supply you with details of the local Registration Office and what makes a marriage legal in England and Wales.
If you require the ceremony to be legally recognised then you must arrange this with your local Registration Office. I only conduct ceremonies for individuals over the age of 18, both must agree to the ceremony. No ceremony will take place of either party believe it to be a legal ceremony and is being coerced to take part. I am inclusive and work with my couples to overcome any specific issues regarding visible or invisible disabilities, or difficulties arising from personal physical traits. If you feel I am not understanding your issue, it is your responsibility to be open with me so we can work through issues to ensure your ceremony is fabulous. I am happy to work alongside foreign language / sign language translators, but I'm not responsible for their conduct. They are to be hired by yourself to work alongside me.
6. Confidentiality
We will hold all information provided to us in the strictest of confidence.
We will not share any information you provide to us with any third parties.
Any ceremony examples we supply to you are copyright and must also be kept as confidential and not shared with others, without our written consent.
7. Your Responsibilities
It is your responsibility to book the location or venue of your choice for the date and time required. You need to share our details with your wedding planner or event manager. it is your responsibility to ensure that any unity ceremonies that include naked flames, (candle ceremony) or ceremonies where food or drink is consumed that you have written permission from your venue. Some venues charge a corkage fee which is payable by yourself. It is your responsibility to pay for all costs associated with the venue or location of your choice and Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant will not be responsible and can not be held liable for the failure of the venue to fulfil its obligations to you. It is your responsibility to gain comprehensive insurance to cover you for issues that may lead to cancellation of your wedding or parts thereof.
You are responsible for delivering information requested in the form of questionnaires by deadlines given. If you are unable to give information at that time, we must agree a time for it's return. Once you are happy with the ceremony at 6 weeks prior to the ceremony, and the full balance is paid, no further ceremony changes will be allowed.
8. Events outside our control
If you are having an outside wedding, please ensure that you have a contingency plan for adverse weather, or are happy for the elements to take part in your ceremony. I am happy to conduct the ceremony in all weather except for thunder & lightening, but you are responsible for the safety of your guests in the event of inclement weather, and other suppliers may not be able to fulfil their obligations in adverse whether.
Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant will make every effort to fulfil the engagement booked but is not responsible for the non-arrival due to circumstances beyond the Celebrants control. This to include but not comprehensive of:
Extreme weather conditions
Industrial action
Failure of public services
If I am on route and can not get to the venue, I will ensure that copy of the ceremony and directions are emailed to the venue or to yourselves so that someone may conduct the ceremony on my behalf.
In the event of celebrant illness prior to the ceremony, every effort will be made to provide a substitute Celebrant. In this situation, full details of your booking will be passed onto the substitute Celebrant along with the script and directions. No additional fee will be charged.
Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant will not be responsible and can not be held liable in any way for the cancellation of a venue or location by the venue or location responsible for the booking and booked by you for your event.
9. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations will be accepted up to twelve (12) weeks prior to the event. This will exempt you from paying the final balance. The deposit remains non refundable and is payment for work already carried out.
Within 12 weeks of the ceremony we may not be able to re-book the date, therefore the clients are responsible for the balance in full. Once full payment has been received there will be a 100% cancellation fee, to cover work already carried out and the loss of the date.

10. Covid -19 restrictions.
Due to the unique difficulties for couples and their ceremonies that have arisen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The following clauses have been added.

Elizabeth-Anne Celebrant reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.
